Q Developments and Q Plant Hire are taking on the 3 Peaks in 24 Hours for Barnabus, July 2014

Why Barnabus needs a Team Ocean Makeover Day!

Ocean Finance are running a fantastic competition to win a team of up to 10 volunteers to help with a project and £300, to spend on equipment and materials. https://www.oceanfinance.co.uk/loans/creatives/team-ocean-makeover

We have a couple of projects that would really benefit from this generous support and would like to be considered for an Ocean Finance Makeover Day.

Barnabus Allotment Project
Our allotment project has raised beds, a greenhouse, bamboo arch and we even have a Christmas tree. What we need however, is a team of people to help us create two new raised beds so that we can grow a wider range of fruit and vegetables. Produce is shared out among the homeless who benefit from this wellbeing activity and our drop-in, to make
healthy stews and casseroles. The donation of £300 would buy wood, posts, screws, inner lining and a ton of soil and compost to make these beds from scratch.

Barnabus ReNu Up-cycling Furniture Project
ReNu is a newly launched up-cycling, furniture project, teaching homeless people how to repair and transform donated furniture into beautiful, shabby chic styled pieces. The finished items are then sold to provide funds for the project and in time, we aim to provide employment opportunities as well as employable skills from this rewarding and inspiring
activity. Ocean volunteers would encourage the people attending the course in their learning and help assist them practically, the £300 would be spent on essential sanders, drills, paint and wax materials.
