Bupa Fest – October 2011
As part of Bupa's continuing commitment to support us in 2011 they organised a fun event for their staff at Tiger Tiger in Manchester to raise funds. As the “Bupa Fest” name suggests this was a twist on a summer festival themed night out. Talented staff provided the musical entertainment for the night by singing and playing in bands. Staff turned up in shorts and festival gear and we provided a festival themed Barnabus Bazaar stall including a “throw a welly game” tombola and retro gear for sale. Bupa gave out shades, glow sticks and even inflatable guitars, it was a brilliant night, everyone had a lot of fun and an amazing £896.74 was raised.
We have been consistently touched and amazed by the compassion, energy and commitment Bupa and their staff have shown to us throughout the year, earlier on in the year they held a Bupa Global Challenge (see separate news story) They also took part in many community action days where teams responded by helping at our store and also decorating our Drop-in. Staff also raised funds by taking part in our sponsored events and we continue to receive donations of clothing and food from their different departments – thank you for all your wonderful support!
