Sainsbury’s “Summer Beach Day” Fundraiser, June 2013

Peter Sidwell

Management and Staff at Sainsbury’s Deansgate, Manchester recently chose to support us as their local charity for 2013.

They held their first fundraiser for us by holding a Summer Beach Day, in-store. The atmosphere was fantastic. Staff wore Hawaiian Shirts, summer fun-wear and garlands. The store was also decorated with inflatable beach trees, parrots, lanterns and even the odd rubber ring! They held a raffle with a hamper and other fabulous prizes and donations were given from customers at the till points.

Thank you to all the Staff, Managers and Customers; your support from this event raised a Summer Sizzling £417.00.

Carol Price, Barnabus Development Manager writes “ We’re delighted to have been chosen by Sainsbury’s, Deansgate as their local charity for 2013. As we’re a local charity, we often miss out on Corporate Support from many of the nationally known stores, companies and brands. We’re very thankful to Sainsbury’s for raising awareness amongst their customers about homelessness and also how we as a charity, can offer a lifeline to the homeless and vulnerable in our City. The Staff had a lot of fun taking part and we’re looking forward to hearing about future fundraisers in the coming year.
