Barnabus would like to thank Love Creative for their creative expertise and generous support enabling us to put on this event, Dornans for generously printing all event collateral and also Virgin Money Lounge for generously providing the venue along with complimentary refreshments.
We are delighted to invite you along to a free photography exhibition at Virgin Money Lounge, 98 King Street, Manchester, M2 4WU on Wednesday 9th April 6pm - 8pm for a rare opportunity to see a collection of diverse photographs taken by our Art and Crafts group. Entitled 'My Manchester', the imagery features breathtaking architecture, interesting views and even some hidden secrets, which the photographers feel express their city.
The photographers are all members of an Arts and Crafts group run by the Manchester-based homeless charity, Barnabus. Work began on the project back in the Summer of 2013 and over 600 images were captured. The exhibition features 40 of the very best.
Annette Hewitson, Barnabus Centre Manager said, “You can’t help but to be inspired by this exhibition. The group have loved taking part in this project, they’ve found a new appreciation for our city, learnt new skills, developed friendships and have already been encouraged and surprised by some of the shots they have taken. The exhibition will be an opportunity to celebrate Manchester and the groups creativity.
Gillian a lady from the group says” It was such a good experience we all had a lot of fun, I didn’t know I could take photographs like that and I’m really proud of the work we’ve all done.
The evening includes a chance to meet the photographers and staff from Barnabus. Photographs featured in the exhibition will also be available as prints, which can be ordered on the night of after the event for a donation. All monies raised will support the Barnabus Brick Appeal which will help the charity extend their drop-in centre www.justgiving.com/brickappeal.
Numbers are limited to 100; we are sure this will be a popular event so please register your interest by sending an email to email@example.com
